Our story
It all started with a dream—to create a barbershop where customers enjoy not only professional care but also a unique atmosphere. A place where you don’t just come for a haircut but also for a great drink and informal conversations.
My name is Vasili Maestro, and I am the owner of the Sobaka Pavlova barberclub.
My journey began in 1999 when I first stepped into a men’s barbershop filled with the scent of shaving foam, cologne, and tobacco. I learned from masters of the old school—those who knew that a true barber is not just a craftsman but a guardian of tradition.
I studied in Kyiv at the Institute, perfecting the art of haircuts, shaping silhouettes, and finding my own style. In 2014, I had the opportunity to manage one of the first barbershops in Odesa. Back then, barbering was more than just cutting hair—it was an art, a philosophy, and part of a subculture.
In 2015, I founded the first barber academy, training over a hundred barbers who now work all across Ukraine and Europe.
In 2016, I led the largest barbershop network in Odesa, and in 2017, I organized the first international barber culture festival and served as a judge at competitions.
In 2018, I decided to start over—in Prague. I built everything from scratch, and by 2023, I had created the largest barbershop network, Odessa Mama.
26 years of experience, travel, mistakes, and insights brought me here.
In 2025, I founded Sobaka Pavlova—the barber club I had always envisioned.
It’s not just a place for haircuts and shaves. It’s a home for those who understand that barbering is a style, a culture, and a spirit.
This is my soul, my blood, my child.
